Welcome, Lynn Galliano!

Jane Goodall wrote, “Hope does not deny the evil, but responds to it.” At Anamchara Books, we want to do whatever we can to participate in the work of hope. We know it’s not easy these days; we know how it feels to be discouraged, frightened, sad, and angry. But we believe Spirit is at work, even in our troubled world, and we look for signs of Her presence.

Having Lynn Galliano join us at Anamchara Books is, for us, a sign of hope. With Lynn’s help, we’ll be launching Understory, a new imprint that will explore the intersections of spirituality, psychology, mental health, healing, and human transformation.

During the initial development period, Lynn will serve as Understory’s Development Consultant and Project Manager, working with Ellyn Sanna to identify prospective authors and projects, track production stages, and help shape the imprint’s public presence and future direction.Lynn will be speaking with prospective authors and inviting them to submit proposals or materials for consideration. More information about Understory and its first projects will be announced soon.

We hope you’re seeing signs of hope in your life too. Drop us a note if you are—we’d love to hear your story. You can reach us at Lynn@AnamcharaBooks.com or Ellyn@AnamcharaBooks.com; we’ll compile the stories and share them (anonymously or credited is up to you) in a blog post and/or on social media.

And when the despair threatens to drown your hope (we all have those days), perhaps you can hold on to these words from one of our favorite authors:

The world is indeed full of peril,
and in it there are many dark places;
but still there is much that is fair,
and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief,
[love] grows perhaps the greater.

J. R. R. Tolkien

May love grow in us all and in our wounded world.

Lynn Galliano is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst & Reiki Master based in the San Francisco area. She’s also simply a lovely human being.

May we, Like tolkien’s Fellowship, persevere, supporting each other against the odds, standing firm in the work of hope.
